A Consultant That Understands Christian Ministry, Helping You Make the Most of Your Computing Investment
I'm not a stranger when it comes to church. My undergraduate educational background is in Biblical Studies. I help other pastors by delivering sermons to their congregations when they are away on personal business or vacation (pulpit supply). Over my lifetime, I've probably attended or visited about 10-15 ministries.
My family has a history of being involved in church. My great-grandfather was a minister in Maine, traveling around and conducting services in as many as 3 churches on a Sunday. I remember seeing in his basement a mimeograph machine, which would be used to create the bulletins for the worship service every week.
Times have changed
If you are still using a mimeograph, or a mechanical typewriter, you probably are not being very effective or efficient. There are many ways in which computers and the right software can help improve your productivity, and allow you to spend more time doing other things, such as studying for your next sermon (incidentally, there is software available for that, too).
Here are some ways I can help your church:
- Create a blog to keep members informed, and promote dialog
- Create a content managed website to cut down on recurring web design efforts
- Custom software to track attendance, visitors, and giving
- Develop a Keyword optimized website, to attract more attention
- Network and remotely administrate a church's office computers
- Help with streaming audio and video feeds of your services
There are many options available, which is why you should choose a consultant wisely. While some who are involved in Christianity have an isolationist worldview, mine is very open. I read and study periodicals and am continuing my education in software engineering. I also am a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. This means that I will be able to provide you with ideas and resources that others may not think of, because I've committed to lifelong learning and educating myself about the best practices in the disciplines that I have experience with. I network and have relationships with other professionals outside the Christian sphere, to keep myself balanced.
I understand that in many small churches, budgets are tight, and money is scarce. Please contact us, no matter how much you think you can afford. We can work out a payment plan, and reduce the fees for qualified churches and non profit ministries (otherwise known as para-church organizations).
